In 2012 Rabobank concluded a strong partnership with Close the Gap, having donated 15,000 decommissioned computers over three years and adopted projects in the East African Community.

Close the Gap is pleased to announce that today 302 computers have been delivered to 16 schools and educational institutions in Tanzania. These computers will allow 2,680 pupils to gain access to information and knowledge. For every computer delivered to a project, Rabobank also ensures end-of-life management by buying e-resource certificates from Close the Gap’s daughter organisation WorldLoop.

In order to guarantee the follow-up and sustainability of the computer donation, Close the Gap works in close collaboration with its local service partner Affordable Computers and Technology for Tanzania (ACTT).
