Earlier this month, Close the Gap handed over two laptops to BeCode, which offers free trainings to unemployed people and in this way creates the next generation of agile web developers. The two laptops were the result of the fundraising event 'Golf to Close the Gap'.

In September, Golf to Close the Gap was organised as a networking, golfing and fundraising event. All funds were given to Close the Gap in order to bridge the digital divide.

The fundraising itself happened through an animated auction where people could bid money for several projects. One of these projects was the donation of a laptop to a BeCode student. However, this bid raised enough money for two laptops to be donated.

In January, Close the Gap's Project Manager Marnick Vanlee personally handed over these two laptops to two BeCode students, who are now able to further explore the wide world of web development, thanks to BeCode's coding classes.
