The data safety of our donating partners has always been our top priority. That is why we work with professional and certified refurbishment partners that guarantee seamless IT processing of each device we receive. For our collections in Europe, this task is entrusted to our technical partner, the Circular IT Group, servicing us primarily for us from their facility in Belgium. The work they do has always been guided by safety and integrity, underlined by regular audits and the certifications they obtained over the years. In 2026, that number of certifications reached 6, making their facility the most highly certified ITAD warehouse in Belgium.
Their Belgian warehouse in Kontich, spanning a total of 5,500 m², was inaugurated by the Circular IT Group in October 2025. This launch signalled the group’s ambition to significantly scale up its IT processing capacity. Their ongoing drive for improvement had been a constant feature for years and was maintained at full speed at the new site. In the Summer of 2026, a sixth ISO certification crowned their work. It is a milestone that made them a champion in the field, holding ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, WEEELABEX, and BCorp certifications in total in Belgium.
These labels confirm their secure workflows, reliability, and professionalism: the core services Close the Gap looks for to ensure the data security of our donating partners. Their Belgian warehouse processes +/- 68.000 donated devices collected from our donors on an annual basis, making them a strategic partner for the impact we can make globally. This wonderful achievement of the Circular IT Group is widely celebrated within our entire ecosystem and across our very own ITAD plants in Kenya (Nairobi) and South Africa (Johannesburg). These two Close the Gap facilities work as copies of our partner’s warehouse and implement the same values of secure computer upcycling. They were inaugurated to boost local collection and computer refurbishment to serve a local circular economy. That is how both ITAD plants extend our services in and for African markets, forming a direct investment in a greener and more inclusive IT landscape across the continent.
