Moving to the capital!
In April 2026, we proudly launched a new refurbishment plant in Nairobi. The facility will serve as a regional hub to upcycle and redistribute IT devices among entrepreneurs, educational initiatives and job creation projects in Kenya. As with all our IT provisions, the hub will also be open to other NGOs and civil society organizations for sustainable and digital supportof their administration and activities.
Ever since 2003, we have been repurposing European collection streams of corporate IT equipment to sustainably support social projects in low-income countries. Contrary to the imported IT flows from abroad, the new Kenyan warehouse will focus on servicing local companies within the country. That strategy allows us to collect, refurbish, and repurpose locally, acting independently from European markets. This implementation is a direct investment in Kenya’s local economic prospects, job creation and the digital confidence of a new generation. As an integral part of our local presence, the Nairobi facility will boost the Kenyan circular ICT sector sustainably, while prioritizing collaborations with corporate and public ecosystems nationwide.
The establishment of this warehouse as such is nothing new within our Kenyano perations. Until now, we have been operating our ITAD services in Mombasa. The relocation of our processes to Nairobi will put our activities closer to the business centers in the capital: it places our circular IT activities at the heart of the corporate environment it embraces and will scale up our capacity from 45.000 to 200.000 devices per year.
Our warehouse was launched with a lot of excitement and many happy faces. Striving to be a trusted IT disposal partner for the for Nairobi based organizations, it represents a new chapter in our story of local impact. Through the employment of new workforces and the delivery of hardware to projects, the hub will boost local economy, innovation, and the social prospects of communities across the region. It will help answer the increasing demand for digital skills across Kenya’s education, business, and public service sectors and will leverage Kenya’s push towards a digital economy under Vision 2030.
