From 15 to 17 October, Close the Gap's founder & CEO Olivier Vanden Eynde accompanied His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen on their official state visit to Luxembourg, together with 200 other business leaders, academics, and press.

As a neighbour country, Luxembourg is an important trading and international partner of Belgium. Invited by the Luxembourg Royal Palace, His Majesty the Queen and Her Majesty the Queen traveled to the country together with Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders and the Minister Presidents of Belgium's communities and regions (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels).

Apart from this delegation, a number of private sector companies and academics was also part of the state visit. As a result, Close the Gap's founder Olivier had the opportunity to share Close the Gap's story in Luxembourg.

"This state visit is an ideal moment to share my vision on social entrepreneurship with other inspiring entrepreneurs from Belgium and Luxembourg. I’m very much looking forward to this unique opportunity!", Olivier Vanden Eynde.

On Tuesday, the whole group, about 200 persons (including the royal pair, business leaders, academics, and a 40-person press delegation), travelled to Luxembourg, many did so by train. On the journey, Olivier even had the opportunity to show pictures of our Circular Economy Hub in Nairobi to His Majesty the King, and talk to Her Majesty the Queen of her recent UN mission to Kenya.
