Last week, Close the Gap's founder and CEO Olivier Vanden Eynde had an interesting meeting with His Excellency the Kenyan Ambassador for the EU, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The topic of the meeting was Close the Gap's new strategy in Kenya as impact investor in the field of creating digital opportunities.

On Thursday 15th August, Olivier was invited to the Kenyan Embassy by His Excellency the Ambassador. After a warm welcome, they discussed Close the Gap's new operations in Kenya, namely the launch of the Circular Economy Hub (a computer refurbishment plant) in Nairobi and the Close the Gap Hub (a co-working space and incubator for tech entrepreneurs) in Mombasa.

His Excellency the Ambassador was very enthusiastic about both initiatives, as they will offer a large number of employment opportunities for young Kenyans. Also, as electronic waste (e-waste) is still a very big issue in Kenya, the Ambassador was happy to hear that Close the Gap is also active in this field, ensuring the proper management and recycling of this kind of waste.
