Close the Gap makes a gesture for Msandaka School for the Deaf - What about you?

One of the projects that Close the Gap has been supporting since the very beginning of our activities is Msandaka School for the Deaf in Tanzania. This project lies closely to our heart, as it's a project that our former Chair (and current Vice-Chair) of the Board, Professor Wim Blonk, has been supporting personally for over 15 years.
Msandaka School for the Deaf is a school for speaking and hearing impaired children in Tanzania. The school has received computers from Close the Gap more than once in the past years, always equipped with special software so that they are adapted to the special needs of the children. Their computer classroom is even named after our Vice-Chair: children develop their digital skills in the Wim Blonk Computer Lab.
Since 2000, the school offers primary education, but it also wants to continue offering the students a way of setting up their own businesses and creating opportunities later in life. That's how the idea of the building of a Vocational Training Centre was created.
The Lions Club, which is supporting the school since the beginning, will build this Training centre where children can continue their education after finishing primary school. The Training Centre will offer courses such as carpentry, IT and e-waste training, and farming.
However, to build this training centre, additional funds are needed. The whole project needs around 225 000€, of which a large amount has been secured already. But the children could still use your support! That's why we set up a fundraising campaign and that's why we're asking you to make a gesture for these children, so they can make a brighter future for themselves.
How can you support this project? If you donate through the King Bauduoin Foundation, your donations of 40 euro or more are tax deductible in Belgium. How? Donate to our specific ‘Build a dream’ project account for Msandaka (nr. 196/0360/00492), managed by the King Baudouin Foundation (IBAN: BE 10 0000 0000 0404). Your bank transfer to their account qualify for a tax reduction of 45% on the amount actually paid.
You can also donate through our online fundraising campaign. For every euro coming in through this online crowdfunding campaign, Close the Gap will also donate one euro, up to a maximum of 5000 euro.
