D4D-Be platform is officially launched !

This Monday, November 20, 2017, public authorities, companies, NGOs, civil society organizations, academic institutions and research centers met in Brussels to give the Belgian development cooperation a digital impetus.

A platform to promote digital expertise in North-South collaborative projects

Interactive debates, positive examples, testimonies and encouragement from the Federal Government and the European Commission should lead to better collaboration between South and North. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of projects in the South with digital technologies such as blockchain or big data.

Speakers at this event include Alexander De Croo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Development Cooperation, Digital Agenda, Telecommunications and Post, and Roberto Ridolfi, Director for Growth and Sustainable Development at within the European Commission (speech below). The purpose of the meeting is not only to make the platform known, but also help ignite partnership between private sector companies and actors in development cooperation.
